Fox has officially released the synopsis for Glee's Cory Monteith/Finn memorial episode coming up in season 5.

The untimely death of Monteith in July forced the producers to write his character Finn out the show, and this episode will feature the other characters coming together to remember him.

"The McKinley High family, present and past, join together to remember and celebrate the life of Finn Hudson," the synopsis reads. Some of the guest stars planned for the episode include Jayma Mays (who plays Emma), Mike O'Malley (Burt), Romy Rosemont (Carole), Dot-Marie Jones (Coach Beiste), Mark Salling (Puck) and Harry Shum Jr. (Mike).

The entire main cast will be featured in the episode. Only Dianna Agron (Quinn) and Heather Morris (Brittany) are not scheduled to return for the episode, though they may make un-credited cameos.

The episode, titled The Quarterback, is the third episode in season 5 and will air on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 9 p.m. on Fox.

Co-star Jane Lynch, who plays Sue Sylvester on the show, honored Monteith at the Primetime Emmy Awards Sunday. Lynch told the audience that Monteith was a "gifted and wonderful young man" who made it impossible not to fall in love with him.

"To a generation that loved Cory so, please know: this gifted and wonderful young man was worthy of your love," Lynch continued. "And if you were lucky enough to know Cory as we did and witness firsthand Cory's goofy, breezy sense of humor, his natural instinct for inclusiveness, and his unbridled sense of generosity day in and day out, I promise, you'd have loved him even more."
