'American Horror Story' Season 3 Spoilers: Title Sequence Revealed & Detailed Synopsis of Premiere [VIDEO]
American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy revealed the opening sequence to the upcoming third season to his Twitter followers Wednesday.
"Here it is!" Murphy tweeted. "The sexy scary main title for AHS: Coven. Can you spot the clues?" The title sequence is an ode to Coven's New Orleans setting and features witches and voodoo magic.

What is arguably most curious about the sequence is which names have been left out. Though Angela Bassett and Gabourey Sidibe were thought to be members of the main cast, their names are not featured in the sequence. However, it is possible that this is not the final cut of the opening titles that will be broadcast.
In other American Horror Story: Coven spoiler news, SpoilerTV released a detailed synopsis of the premiere episode of the season, titled B---craft. Though many of the details are already known, the synopsis fills in more about the main characters' personalities.
According to the synopsis, the episode will begin in 1834 with Madame LaLaurie (Kathy Bates), an "evil" woman who uses other people's blood to stay young. LaLaurie brutally punishes one of her servants for seducing her daughter Pauline by turning him into a beast.
In present day New Orleans, Zoe (Taissa Farmiga) finds out that she is a witch descended from the famed Salem witches. She is whisked away to Miss Robichaux's Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies where she meets her new classmates. Madison Montgomery (Emma Roberts) is a teen movie star who can move objects with her mind, Queenie (Gabourey Sidibe) is a human voodoo doll and Nan (Jamie Brewer) is clairvoyant.
Zoe also meets the school's head mistress Cordelia Foxx (Sarah Paulson) and mute butler Spalding (Denis O'Hare). Cordelia's mother Fiona Goode (Jessica Lange) flocks to New Orleans after hearing about their coven of witches dying off. Fiona is obsessed with eternal youth, much like Madame LaLaurie.
While Cordelia takes a more peaceful approach with the young witches, Fiona wants the world to fear them. Madison then takes Zoe to a party where she meets Kyle (Evan Peters) a frat boy Zoe takes an interest in.

Finally, Fiona takes the young witches to the home of Madame LaLaurie and describes the woman's fateful death. The Voodoo Queen - who is likely to be Bassett's character - killed LaLaurie as revenge for murdering the Queen's lover.
