CBS' hit TV series, Elementary, will kick off its second season with Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) and Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) making the trek to London in order to scope out one of his former mentors in Inspector Lestrade (Sean Pertwee) and also to address an unsolved case.

Upon Sherlock's arrival, he reunites with his estranged brother, Mycroft (Rhys Ifans), who won't exactly be welcoming him with open arms.

Executive producer, Rob Doherty dished to The Hollywood Reporter on Sept. 26 about the strained relationship between the two.

"When we meet Mycroft in the premiere, we'll discover that the brothers haven't spoken for several years. They had a falling out and haven't been in touch since. Things got so bad that Sherlock has never even mentioned that Mycroft existed to Joan, so it's a surprise to her as well," he said.

The EP also elaborated to the site on his interest in a new plot approach, which could include a return for the likes of Game of Thrones' Natalie Dormer, who donned the role of Sherlock's nemesis, Moriarty/Irene Adler

"As we move into the back half, we're drawn to the idea of somebody who could recur as an antagonist and yet not hit all of the same notes that Moriarty did in the first season," he said.

CBS' Elementary will be kicking off its second season on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 10/9 p.m. Central Standard Time. Be sure to keep checking back with Enstars for all of the latest information on the popular TV series. Check out the season 2 promo below!
