FBI profiler Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) has more than one mystery on her hands.

Aside from trying to unravel the complicated web that is Raymond "Red" Reddington and attempting to capture the high profile criminals he reveals, Keen is left with a new riddle about her husband, Tom (Ryan Eggold)

It seems as if Red wants Keen to uncover her husband's true identity considering he had Zamani (Jamie Jackson) attack Tom, an event which led to Keen's discovery of her spouse's multiple passports and weapon. However, it appears Red will be little help in solving the puzzle since it will be several episodes before Keen makes any real progress on that front.

"Elizabeth doesn't have anything to go on right now," Eggold said, according to TV Line. "so the next few episodes is her trying to deduce if she can trust this man that she's married to. But in terms of it taking a big leap towards something really happening, it's like Episode 5, I think, when things really shift, in a big way."

In the meantime, fans can speculate as to whom Tom will turn out to be - a criminal, a spy, or something else entirely? Why is Reddington so set on only talking to Keen, and why is he so interested in the agent uncovering her husband's secret identity?

The Blacklist will air it's second episode, "The Freelancer," Monday at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
