Being cast as the mischievous Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter film franchise hasn't stopped actor Tom Felton from find working since the role ended.

"Going back awhile, even to the fourth and fifth Potter films, I don't remember actively thinking, 'I want to do this for the rest of my life.' It was never something that I embraced and thought 'I really want to do this,'" he said to the Columbus Dispatch.

The now 26-year-old actor has worked steadily since the Potter series ended in 2011, appearing in Rise of the Planet of the Apes in 2011 and The Apparition in 2012.

"It was probably during the sixth film, when I was 18 or 19, that I had an appreciation for, A, how lucky I was, and B, for what I was doing. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the process," he said. "So I think after that is when I really started focusing on how I was going to be able to continue doing this."

Now, his work in the Potter films has opened the actor up to another new project. He will be starring in the premiere episode of the new DirectTV 10-episode miniseries Full Circle, which launches next week, and boasts an impressive cast including Felton, David Boreanaz, Billy Campbell,Cheyenne Jackson, Minka Kelly, Juliam McMahon, Keke Palmer, Ally Sheedy and Kate Walsh.

Creaetd by writer Neil LaBute, Full Circle takes place in a restaurant called Ellipsis, and follows two people, with one story and one character, carrying over into the next episode.

The first episode, Tim & Bridgette, stars Felton and Kelly as they have one last dinner before he heads back home to college in England. Tim tells Bridgette he'd stay though if he could persuade her to leave her husband (McMahon), who will appear in the second episode. Felton will again appear in the last episode.

"I read the first episode before understanding fully the entire concept," Felton said. "I was massively excited when they explained it to me because it does take some explaining. It's a unique concept and a unique scenario."

Felton also revealed that he thinks this project could further open even more doors for his career than Potter did.

"A project like Full Circle is really the complete opposite of Harry Potter, and, hopefully, it will further my options and keep other doors opening for me," he said.

Full Circle premieres on DirecTV Audience at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday Oct. 9.
