As you attempt to seat the Thanksgiving mass of cousins and uncles at an undoubtedly too small table, Ellen DeGeneres gives a few words of wisdom.

The comedian talk show host recently scrolled through a list of possible problems with potential seating arrangements and explained why being a vegan at Thanksgiving isn't as bad as people make it out to be.

"[Being vegan] doesn't make [Thanksgiving] harder at all. It makes it easier on the turkeys, too. They get to live," DeGeneres joked, according to People.

While DeGeneres loads up her plate with the vegetable side of the Thanksgiving smorgasbord, she also spent some time during Ellen on Wednesday to explain how there is really no way to find peace at the holiday dinner table unless you're eating alone.

"We have the entire family over for Thanksgiving and there is a lot to do...most important we have to figure out the seating arrangement. That is tricky," DeGeneres said. "It's like when a football coach goes through when their getting ready for a big game - you have to look at your roaster and you have to strategize otherwise, at the end of the meal, someone's getting tackles."

However, other than placing the kids in another county entirely, banning latecomers, and checking all snakes and other exotic animals at the door, it may be impossible to avoid some sort of chaos when your brood tucks in for turkey.
