Joseph Gordon-Levitt is back on television in his own variety show called HITRECORD On TV, airing Jan. 18 on Pivot.

In Re:The Number One, Levitt's series kicks off with a collaborative effort of random clips that pose a countdown. The former 30 Rock from the Sun star then elaborates on the episode's title, explaining how the number one is important and can mean unity.

"Number one also makes you think of your first time," Levitt said. "There's a first time for everything and you never get a second chance to make a first. Do you remember your first time? And I mean, your first time doing anything."

More clips follow of people revealing their first times of different scenarios, including going to an American grocery store and the first time a girl told someone she loved him.

The first short film that Levitt shows to his live audience is titled First Stars I See Tonight, which stars Elle Fanning (Super 8) and James Patrick Stewart (All My Children). Based on a true story by Roswell Grey, this clip shows a story of a girl who's night blind and gets her first look at the stars. The clip is a cross of animation with live action.

Levitt wrote a message for YouTube viewers in the video's description box.

"I'm deeply proud of this show, and I think you're realllllly gonna like it," Levitt wrote. "Honestly, making this thing together with all the artists from around the world in our hitRECord community has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life so far."
