The Czech Republic will compete against Slovakia in an important hockey match for the qualification round in Sochi on Tuesday.

Both teams haven't had much luck at this year's Winter Olympics. The Czechs lost to Switzerland and Sweden, but managed to beat Latvia in the preliminary round placing them at No. 7.

Slovakia, sitting at No. 11, has even more to prove. The country lost to the U.S., Russia and Slovenia. However, Slovakia isn't short of talent as the team has two NHL stars - Zdeno Chara from the Boston Bruins and Marian Hossa from the Chicago Blackhawks.

Chara, a 16-year NHL veteran and captain of the Slovakian team, has generated tons of attention from fans, many of who stop him to take a photo. For example, one fan met the hockey player on Feb. 8 and posted a photo on Twitter with the caption, "Just met Zdeno Chara!!! Got a picture with him and he signed my @NHLBruins Stanley Cup game-used hockey puck! #WOW."

However, the fame hasn't shifted Chara's attention from the competition.

"When it comes down to the game, I focus on the game," Chara told The Boston Herald. "I do the same thing as I would do in any city in the NHL or in Boston. People always take pictures and ask me for autographs. That just comes with it. We all do that."
