Renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, were unfortunately found dead in their Los Angeles County residence on the 14th of December, with recent reports revealing the couple died from homicide by knife wounds, with both victims sustaining multiple sharp force trauma, and chiding within minutes of each other. They were pronounced dead by the authorities.

This report comes from Variety reported, were both Rob's and Michele's bodies were found one minute apart, with the discovery of the first body at 3:45 pm and then the second at 3:46 pm, respectively. Two days after the tragic occurrence, their youngest son, Nick, who is now 32 years old, was arrested and charged with two counts of murder in the first degree.

The couple's children Jake, aged 34, and Romy, aged 27, in a public statement through People said, "They weren't just our parents; they were our best friends," while pleading for privacy as they struggle with the loss: "We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave."

Director Rob Reiner is 78 years old and has left a long-lasting impression on the film industry with his iconic films like _When Harry Met Sally, A Few Good Men_, and the cult fantasy film _The Princess Bride_. The cast members remembered his contributions when the couple passed away.

Speaking to "The AV Club" recently, Chris Sarandon, who played Prince Humperdinck in "The Princess Bride", said that "Rob has changed my life." Fred Savage, who played the Grandson, simply said that "gave me the opportunity to be a part of something that has become so much bigger than anyone could have ever imagined."

Mandy Patinkin, the actor who portrayed the role of Inigo Montoya, remembered a significant direction given by the director, Reiner, during an interview with MovieWeb: "Rob kept asking me to do less do less, do less," he said. "In my sleepless night, I realized he wanted less anger from me to allow my broken heart to be felt."

Patinkin again stressed the inspiration that Reiner always brought to him, as if saying, "Now I'm hearing his voice tell us all to do more, do more, do more to repair the human soul, to repair our hearts, to repair our country, to repair our world."
