The World Boxing Organization will review the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley that ended in a controversial result last Saturday.

The WBO announced today that its Championship Committee will meet soon and will examine with five recognized international judges to evaluate the video of the Pacquiao vs Bradley match.

"I want to clarify that in no way this says that we are doubting the capacity of these judges, which we consider as honest and competent judges,” said WBO President Francisco "Paco" Valcárcel in a statement.

Last Saturday in Las Vegas, Pacquiao and Bradley fought for Pacquiao’s WBO welterweight title. The bout ended in a  split decision victory in favour of Bradley. The three judges scored the bout 115-113 (Duane Ford), 115-113 (C.J. Ross) and 113-115 (Jerry Roth).

Almost everyone else who watched the fight thought Pacquiao had won the fight; he landed nearly 100 punches more than Bradley.

The announcement resulted in a huge and overwhelming chorus of boos from the crowd at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena, as well as astonished reactions from TV commentators.

A formal request to launch a full inquiry into the boxing result was submitted to the Nevada State Attorney General's office.
