Bad news for a beloved reality TV couple -- Giuliana and Bill Rancic just revealed that their surrogate suffered a miscarriage recently.

"This whole season on Giuliana and Bill we've been trying to have another baby," Bill shared with People about their E! reality show, which shows their real lives with son Duke. "Unfortunately our surrogate Delphine who we love very much had a miscarriage. It's something that we didn't see coming. We were devastated."

Giuliana and Bill have had their fare share of health scares, including the E! News hosts very public battle with breast cancer.

Bill revealed that their surrogate Delphine was about nine weeks into her pregnancy before they heard the bad news. The couple had experienced a miscarriage in the past, so they were keeping the news private due to the dangers associated with the first few weeks of pregnancy.

Despite the cautious attitude, it didn't make hearing the sad news any easier. "It's a double sadness because we didn't want her to feel bad," Bill shared about their surrogate. "And Giuliana was rather distraught at first, but she's tough. In times like this we rely on our faith. Once the tears went away we started to look towards the future."

Does their future include more kids? Hopefully, says The Apprentice winner, adding that they'd love their surrogate to be a part of the process one more time.

"Giuliana & I want to thank you all for your prayers and support." Bill tweeted this morning. "As I always say.... Tough times don't last but tough people do!"
