MTV's Awkward is currently in its fourth season, with the latest episode Prison Breaks scheduled to air this week.

Does Jenna Still Have Feelings for Matty?

In the most recent preview for episode eight, relationship drama seems to be at the forefront.

Jenna (Ashley Rickards) and Tamara (Jillian Rose Reed) decide to go to Luke's college to spend time with what the call "real men." Tamara is more than enthusiastic about this idea, especially since her relationship with Jake (Brett Davern) has been far from steady, but are the two going to get back together? Or are they done for good?

While some high school relationship on television blossom into full fledged romance, ala Cory and Topanga on the ABC 1990's fan favorite Boy Meets World, a realistic approach would side against Tamara and Jake.

In January 2014 Jillian Rose Reed sat down with Robin Leach to discuss the success of the MTV hit, which she attributed to the readability of the content. "We deal with issues that real teenagers are going through," she explained, "And I think that everyone has a little bit of each character inside of them."

If Awkward, which underwent a change in showrunners between Seasons 3 and 4, stays true to the concept of "real issues" and "real teenagers," then the odds are against any of the high school couples lasting.

Nonetheless, viewers invested in the characters will eagerly watch the show to see what happens next. And in comedy, anything is possible.
