After Sauron made a daunting appearance in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug it was suggested that the necromancer will return and fight the White Council. But it is also believed that the White Council will most probably defeat him.

In an interview, Richard Armitage, also dished about the fate of his character, Thorin.

He suggested that Thorin would really suffer some as he fights the ultimate battle.

''I can tell you nothing about the Battle of the Five Armies other than it cost me some blood and some tears," he said. ''I think it's a testament to Peter Jackson's casting that the actors that come together to work on a movie with him do naturally develop a fellowship."

He also discussed filming in New Zealand and his experience there.

''It [the film] took me away to New Zealand for 18 months, which was a bit of a change," he said. ''I was introduced to some incredible people; I was made to feel like one of the family. The time we were afforded to shoot made me work in a different way."

Armitage also revealed that he was also gifted Thorin's sword at the end of the shoot and was "very proud of it."

The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies will hit theaters on Dec. 18.
