4th of July is almost here and Houston, Texas is getting ready to celebrate.

If you're looking for fireworks, check out CityCentre where there will be four nights of free concerts along with fireworks. July 3 kicks off with a performance from Legendary Rhythm Bandits and July 4 features one from Mustache The Band.

On the actual holiday at Eleanor Tinsley Park, you can see country superstar Jennifer Nettles perform along with Chip Esten ("Deacon Claybourne") and Clare Bowen ("Scarlett O'Connor") from the hit TV show Nashville at the main event Freedom Over Texas sponsored by Southwest Airlines. It will cost $8 per person (or $10 the day of the event), but will be worth it for all the excitement at Mayor Annise Parker's official Fourth of July event.

"I believe it is our civic duty as Americans to stop and celebrate the birth of our nation and pay tribute to the men and women who have made great sacrifices so that we may live in freedom," said Mayor Parker said in a statement. "I invite everyone to join our Texas Tradition as we demonstrate the importance of honoring our country, respecting the values of our founding fathers, and instilling pride in our community."

In addition to the Nettles performance, there will also be a Walmart All-American kid zone, Southwest Airlines sky stage, Bud Light Zone with a beer garden and Dr. Pepper's one of a kind zone. And of course, fireworks.

If you have all afternoon free, don't forget to check out Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens for their Fourth of July celebration. From 1 p.m.-5 p.m. there will be performers, crafts, activities, refreshments, and much more. You can even get birthday cake in honor of America's big day.
