The 4th of July is noted in America as a time for barbeques, celebration, and, of course, fireworks. This year, resident of New York's outer-boroughs have the opportunity to see the Macy's 38th Annual 4th of July display on the East River for the first time in years.

The Macy's display had formerly been held over the Hudson, though New York residents have for some time been trying to get the fireworks moved to a more accessible location. While the new location means New Jersey residents will no longer be able to see the event from their backyard, those previously unable to view the event will be able to do so at their convenience.

The Brooklyn Bridge will be the backdrop for the highly-anticipated event. Locals and tourists alike can view the display on land or even from the water.

Sunday, the Daily News posted a number of places that will provide premium viewing for anyone interested in seeing the show.

Brooklyn Bridge Park is one place to go to see the show and the Brooklyn Bridge Promenade is guaranteed to give a rather impressive view.

A number of cruises will running for anyone interested in watching from the river. Most of these cruises will be departing around 6 p.m. and offer tickets ranging from $150 to $350. Circle Line, Spirit Cruises, Bateaux New York, Manhattan by Sail, and World Yacht will all be running with food, drinks, and music to carry through the evening.

There are also a number of rooftop parties ranging from $10 to $20 at Berry Park, Sonny's Soda Shoppe, The Panther Room and Canopy Bar, and the Z Rooftop Bar.

Of course for those preferring a more low-key evening there are streets in Brooklyn that will be closed off to traffic during the show, and anyone in the area is welcome to stop by and take a look. Closed streets include Montague Street, Remsen Street, Furman Street, and Atlantic Avenue.

With a variety of options available, there is sure to be a little something for everyone.

The show begins over the East River Friday, July 4th at 9:20 p.m.
