While recovering from season ending Tommy John surgery, San Francisco pitcher Brian Wilson apparently had a lot of time on his hands when deciding on a date to this year's ESPY's.  Proudly donning a spandex tuxedo to last year's festivities, the San Francisco Giants bulky bearded pitcher found a way to top it;  by bringing an ape that appeared straight out of Harry And The Henderson's"  as his plus one.

Clearly craving the attention he has not been able to receive on the baseball diamond, Wilson sent a pic of his dappered out self alongside the brown-furried friend lounging on a couch.

"I'm rollin with Squatch all night, tweet me a question you want me to ask him," wrote Wilson.

When one of his followers inquired as to why the oversized sasquatch didn't make ESPN The Magazine's "Body Issue," Wilson replied with "Because the Magazine doesn't have a Scratch-N-Sniff Section."

Some of the other things we learned about "Brosquatch?"  He wants to take over for Alex  Trabek on the game show Jeopardy and he's not loyal to any one brand of body conditioner.

Known to many as a three-time all-star fire-ball throwing closer, the elbow injury clearly has allowed the 30 year-old to focus more on his trademark brand, which whether we like it or not, is almost getting the type of attention Lady Gaga would receive.

Wilson also hosts his own website where one can post their beard, ask him questions or watch his skits.

With the popularity of social networking on the rise, the hurler isn't the first to try and draw attention to himself and will certainly not be the last.  But oddest?  Possibly.

Is it me or does the ape closely resemble Mr. Wilson?  I wish the Giants closer a speedy recovery from his elbow woes; for red carpet appearance purposes that is.
