According to E! Online yesterday, Grande ended things with the YouTube star last month after he wasn't there for her when her beloved grandfather died. "When her grandfather was dying, everyone was there for her. People flew to Florida to be with her, but Jai didn't," a source told the website. "Ariana just felt he wasn't there like he should have been."

On Monday, Grande also tweeted a note alluding to personal changes in her life. "July was painful for many reasons but of all the personal loss I suffered, the loss of my grandfather, a true gentleman, was the only one that truly mattered," she wrote. "I thank my loves for being so in tune to what is good and right for me and my heart..."

After her brief note, she also tweeted, "a lil vague but my loves know me well & I love u so so so much. here for me thru the good & the bad. that's real! I appreciate u".

E! Online reports that despite the break-up the two have "remained friends."

They were first spotted getting cozy again in May at the iHeart Radio Awards after Grande performed her hit song Problem. Grande is currently focusing on her sophomore album, My Everything, which is set to come out at the end of August.
