The Bachelorette 2012 finale aired tonight and Emily Maynard faced a tough choice between Arie Luyendyk, Jr. and Jef Holm. Emily chose Jef Holm, and the series ended with Holm proposing to her with a huge diamond ring.

Host Chris Harrison had promised yet another "most dramatic" finale ever, dubbing the show "the event of the summer."

The promo for the finale seemed to hint that Emily would quit her search and leave without a fiance, but spoilers had indicated that Emily is happily engaged and made a choice between her final two men.

ABC also aired "The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose" after the big decision by Emily tonight.

Arie also joined the after-show, saying he was taken by surprise. "I really felt that we had a future planned... but that day was really shocking for me." He went on to say that he had so many questions and wanted to know why and that he didn't have that closure when he left.

Emily told Arie, "More than anything, I want you to know that I'm sorry and it was really hard for me to watch that. It took me right back in that moment.. I learned i need to be more direct and say things even though it might hurt but it would have given you closure."

Emily and Jef will appear on "Good Morning America" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" tomorrow.

The pair will also appear on "Live with Kelly?" on July 24.
