After a long road that included many sudden exits and quick script work, production on Ant-Man is finally underway with a fully set cast that includes a number of big stars.

Could Some Established Marvel Characters Cameo In 'Ant-Man' To Link It To The Other Movies?

On Monday, First Showing reported that Marvel has set the cast for Ant-Man that includes a few TV stars. According to the release, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Pena, Judy Greer, Abby Ryder Fortson, Wood Harris, David Dastmalchian, Gregg Turkington, and rapper turned actor T.I. They join Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, and Corey Stoll on the movie.

Pena was a name long connected with the movie, but it was unsure if he would stick around after all of the dramatic switches with the movie. Cannavale is set to appear in Annie later this year and had strong turns in Win Win and Blue Jasmine. Greer is a welcome addition who has become a strong character actor outside of her TV work. T.I. has a short resume for his acting career and is making his first big-time role in the Marvel movie.

'Ant-Man' Movie News: New Role Could Set Up Future Marvel Project

Rumor has it that Slattery will be playing the late father of Tony Stark, Howard, in a scene that has Hank Pym (Douglas) talked with members of S.H.I.E.L.D. and connecting the movie to the rest of the Marvel universe. Slattery previously played Stark in a film reel during Iron Man 2.

Director Peyton Reed also took to Twitter to announce the start of filming for the movie. SlashFilm found that On Location Vacations said that Ant-Man is currently filming in San Francisco under the name "Bigfoot" before moving to Atlanta in a few weeks.

Ant-Man is set to open in theaters on July 17, 2015.
