The con opened White Collar's final season tied to a chair, but Matt Bomer's character is a pro at charming his way out of deadly situations - and than ending the day with the ball in his court.

Now that Neal and the FBI have worked out yet another deal for the thief's freedom, it looks like Caffrey will use the Pink Panther's investigation to his advantage. After all, he ended the premiere hinting that freedom isn't all that he's after.

"Oh, that's a touchy one without giving too many spoilers," said series creator Jeff Eastin when TV Line asked for an explanation of Neal's closing remark. "I would say that the best thing you can take away from the line is that with Neal, nothing is ever exactly what it seems."

Eastin did concede, however, that Neal could be looking to score a crook's pension plan.

"That's a possibility. Yeah," Eastin told TV Line.
