As filming of season 3 of House of Cards is almost through, and all forms of speculation surround the plot, a new report suggests that Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) might be seeing her end in the next chapter.

Latest Updates About The Plot Of House of Cards

In the original BBC series, that the show is based on, Frank (Kevin Spacey) dies at the hands of Claire in the third season.

It seems unlikely that Netflix would want to go the same route and kill the show after only three seasons, and Frank's character arc might be rewritten to have him survive. Latin Times speculates that to thicken the plot, Frank will upend Claire's plans and take her down instead.

But the alternative of making things more challenging and shocking for fans would be to get him killed at the hands of Claire, and have her vie for power the way he did, in a Lady Macbeth-ian pursuit.

That would dramatically alter the face of the series, but could also make a bigger statement with a female-oriented plot.

The most recent talk surrounding the storyline had to do with the show's engagement with foreign affairs, particularly Russia, which has been a thorny issue for the US of late. It is known the Pussy Riot, the feminist punk group that was persecuted in Russia on grounds of profanity and their anti-establishment protest, will be guest starring season 3, playing themselves.

The show is directed by Beau Willimon and stars Spacey and Robin Wright, who portrays Claire Underwood on the show.

The third season of House of Cards will film in Maryland, where the first and second seasons were also shot. Initially, the continuation of filming of the third season of the Netflix series was fraught with troubles over the past few weeks as the producers weren't getting permission from the State of Maryland. But the issue was finally resolved on April 25.
