2014 has just about drawn to a close, meaning its time to look forward to 2015 and the things we all hope to accomplish in the New Year.

While some of us swear off of New Year's resolutions because we don't trust ourselves to go through with the promises we make to ourselves and others, many still uphold the tradition of making promises about what they hope to accomplish over the course of the next 365 days.

So what are some of the more popular promises people are making this year? And which ones should we consider for ourselves? Here are eight New Year's Resolutions that aren't too out there-and may be worth trying it.

1. Eating Better

While this resolution seems to often get looped in with ones where people say their goal is to lose weight, eating better can be a simple resolution just to try and treat the body better. Taking general health into consideration and eating foods that make you feel good inside can be a great way to enjoy 2015.

2. Get In Shape  Like eating better, most people make promises to go to the gym more in an effort to lose a few pounds. However, it doesn't'always need to be about losing weight-making a promise to get in shape can just be a way to try and make everyday tasks-like taking the stairs at work -less of a hassle.

3. Pay It Forward

Nothing will feel better than knowing you've helped someone else in need.

4. Stop Bad-Mouthing Others

This once can be a hard habit to break, especially when people upset you, hurt you, annoy you, or just plain piss you off. But remember-treat others how you want to be treated. If you love having people say awful things about you, then continue saying awful things about them, because Karma will work its magic. But if you swear off of saying hurtful things about other people-not only could you possibly keep it from happening to you, but overall, others will be more likely to trust you because you'll come off as a more genuine person.

5. Travel More

The world is a huge place, made up of so many different people, cultures and sights. Whether you can afford a trek across the globe, or just a short excursion to somewhere more local, make time to see a new part of the world. You'll never be sorry about having the experience.

6. Have More Success In Your Career

Whether the success in your career means more financial gain, or is simply something that reaffirms your love for whatever it is you do, aim for something more satisfying job-wise. Be proactive about things that could potentially land you a new opportunity, a new promotion, a raise-whatever it is that will help you sit back and say next New Year's that you accomplished what you set out to do.

7. Save More Money

This can seem impossible with the endless amounts of bills we see each month, especially when the need for newer things is often added into the equation. But make a genuine effort to put some money away for something in your future-whether it means cutting out excessive shopping, throwing pennies in a jar, or testing out the 52-week Money Challenge-at the end of the year, you'll be surprised at what you may find.

8. Simply, Love More

Whether you just want to make sure the special people in your life never have a moment where they doubt how much you care about them, or loving more means finding a truly special someone to spend your time with-open your heart. It may still get bruised along the way, but closing yourself off will never keep you happy.

Happy New Year!
