Fans of Red Band Society will need to get their tissues out when the final episodes of the series finally hit TV screens.

FOX is airing the final three episodes of the recently-cancelled freshman drama series beginning Jan. 31, and though fans are already likely to cry because the show won't continue afterwards, the episodes themselves could potentially cause a few tears to spill as well-because at least one character will die before the show's end.

According to a synopsis for the final bunch of episodes (via Carter Matt), the loose ends from the winter finale will be tied up-but the patients and doctors at Ocean Park Hospital will be handed a very tough situation as well.

"The group copes with the loss of one of their own, which results in new hope for one of them," the synopsis reads, before continuing on with more hints about fans can expect.

"Love is in the air as Nurse Jackson and Dr. Naday take things to a new level, however Dash's love interest could cost him his life. Shocking news leads to new hope and Emma and Kara start facing their family issues," the synopsis adds.

The winter finale saw everyone in shocking new situations. Leo (Charlie Rowe) and Kara (Zoe Levin) started hooking up after both feeling broken-hearted by their respective love interests-as both Emma (Ciara Bravo) and Hunter (Daren Kagasoff) saw their medical situations take a new turn. Jordi (Nolan Sotillo) also had a new turn in his case, as he began dealing drugs in order to earn the money for his emancipation-and the experimental surgery that could keep his cancer from spreading.

Red Band Society will air its final episodes beginning at 9 p.m. on Jan. 31. The final two episodes will air starting at 8 p.m. on Feb. 7.
