Victoria Beckham is more often photographed with a scowl than a smile, but the Spice Girl-turned-fashionista couldn't help but grin at New York Fashion Week.

Beckham unveiled her spring/summer 2013 collection Monday morning, Sept. 10, before an audience that included A-listers like Vogue editor Anna Wintour, Maria Sharapvoa and the designer's husband, soccer star David Beckham.

Beckham's designs continued the schoolgirl feel of her past work, adding to her stock of fitted dresses, a series of cropped jackets, pleated white tennis skirts and racer-back tanks.

The addition of separate pieces to Beckham's line was a welcome update, according to Lauren Stevenson, a PR director for My Wardrobe.

"It was good I see her move to separates - there was almost a Carven feel to some of the pieces such as the box skirts and cropped jackets," she said. "But there was a relaxed feel to the collection. I liked it. It's good to see her confidence growing with each collection."

Beckham was dressed to the nines herself in a black minidress and peep-toe boots of her own design.

The collection is only the latest in a string of positive growth for Beckham's line. UK's Now Magazine reported Beckham is one of Jennifer Aniston's top choices to design her wedding dress when she marries fiancé Justin Theroux.

"Even by Victoria's standards, it would be a huge coup as Jen's wedding will be Hollywood's biggest event in years," a source told the magazine. "It would cement Victoria's place at the very top of the fashion elite."
