Spain will play against Georgia for their first World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, Sept. 11, following their 5-0 win against Saudi Arabia last week.

The World Cup winners will compete at the Boris Paichadze Stadium in Georgia and are the third nation to do so.

The game follows the European champions' 11 game winning streak, including beating Italy (4-0) in Euro 2012. They have also won the World Cup in 2010.

Gerard Piquante is a fan favorite as several players are sidelined from recent injuries.

Coach Vincente Del Bosque told ESPN that the team has to win qualifying games against five countries including France, Finland, Belarus and Georgia.

"The Brazil World Cup does not start in 2014, but now, here against Georgia in Tbilisi. To defend the title that Spain won in Johannesburg we need to first qualify for Brazil,'' Del Bosque told ESPN.

"It's true that what could happen is that we don't get to the World Cup and it would be strange not to see the champions defend their title, but we're going to think positively and think that we will be there," said the team's captain Iker Casillas.
