Leah Calvert Launches New Beauty Business, Faces Backlash Online

Following reports, which claimed Be Glossy's stylists were not properly certified, the Teen Mom 2 star's business partner, Leslee Pannell, spoke out, denying any wrongdoing.

"There is zero truth to the investigation,” Pannell told The Ashley's Reality Roundup on February 9. “Nobody [from the state board] has contacted me.”

Also in the interview, Pannell claimed the Teen Mom 2 star has not been performing any illegal services.

“We absolutely do have a license. Leah hasn’t done hair or makeup for anything,” she said. “It’s all me or Crystal.”

That said, Calvert is listed as a "stylist" on the company's official website, and neither Calvert nor Pannell is listed as cosmetologists on the West Virginia Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists’ website.

According to The Ashley, Calvert and Pannell can legally do makeup, but when it comes to facials, hair styling or any other cosmetology service, that would be illegal.

"On Gloss’ website, Leslee states that she is a certified makeup artist, and that she has a hair styling certification," the site explained. "(These generally come from attending classes put on by specific product brands.) She does not state that she is a licensed cosmetologist, and she can not legally do hair until she is a licensed hair stylist or cosmetologist."
