They had their first major fight of their relationship when he learned Melanie (Molly Burnett) was investigating a fertility doctor with ties to Theresa (Jen Lilley), but any hopes Brady (Eric Martsolf) may have had that Mel would back off will be crushed on Days of Our Lives.

Theresa Confronts Melanie

Brady told her to drop any investigation she had into the mysterious Dr. Mandrake after learning from Theresa that Melanie was digging around in her business, and his ultimatum caused Melanie to get upset. Now though, she will put her foot down and tell Brady she won't drop what she's doing solely because he requests it, and may explain her reasons for looking into it.

She had previously overheard Theresa's brief new beau Clint (Lucas Kerr) in a phone conversation with Mandrake, where he promised the unknown doctor that Theresa didn't remember anything. Mel's curiosity was sparked and she began investigating-and when Theresa learned what she was up to she didn't take it well.

However, both Brady and Theresa could be better off if they continue allowing Mel to look into things, because what neither one has realized yet is that Mandrake is keeping tabs on Theresa because he had done something to her. Back when Brady was torn between Theresa and Kristen (Eileen Davidson), Theresa revealed she was pregnant with his child. A jealous Kristen couldn't handle it, and hired Mandrake to kidnap Theresa, and the embryo was then taken from her and implanted in Kristen.

Since everyone later believed that Theresa had lied about being pregnant when tests came back negative, learning the truth could not only give her and Brady back the child they created, but it could save her reputation as well.
