Aduba, who plays Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren on Netflix's Orange Is the New Black, will run in the marathon on behalf of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, according to a new report by People. The 33-year-old actress has a specific motto in mind going into the long race.

"Just keep going," she said to People. "That ended up becoming a motto for my life as well, because if you just keep going eventually you're going to hit the finish line."

She compared those who are struggling to go on in life to prisoners, like those portrayed in the Netflix comedy-drama; it's all about getting to the other side.

"Life is going to try and beat you down," Aduba said. "Whether you're going through hills like Heartbreak Hill [the Boston Marathon's final, legendary incline] or hills like prison sentences, if you keep going the other side of the hill is down. You just have to push through because what's on the other side is glorious."

Aduba has lost several people in her life to cancer and is running for the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research. This program researches the causes of certain cancers on molecular and genetic levels.

The actress is not entirely concerned about reaching the finish line at the end of the marathon; it is ultimately about the destination to her.

"It's not the finish line I think about," she said. "It's the number of thank-you's to these amazing souls I know who I get to speak to in my dreams."

The 2015 Boston Marathon will take place on Monday, April 20.

Orange Is the New Black season 3 is slated to be released on Netflix on June 12, with all 13 episodes likely being released at once.
