'Teen Wolf' Season 5 Spoilers: Derek To Appear? Linden Ashby Teases Tyler Hoechlin's Brief Return [VIDEO]
Teen Wolf fans shouldn't write off Derek Hale just yet.
The sourwolf isn't booked as a season regular for season 5 but that doesn't mean Tyler Hoechlin's character won't appear at some point in the next 20 episodes.
Jeff Davis announced Hoechlin's seeming departure at Paley Fest in early March, quickly cautioning viewers that, as with most characters that take a break from Beacon Hills, Derek will most likely drop by for at least one episode.
"Tyler Hoechlin decided he wanted more time to pursue movies," Davis informed Buzzfeed. "We talked and creatively agreed that maybe this was a good season to refocus on the teens of Teen Wolf, and while he won't be a series regular anymore, I can say that you probably won't have seen the last of Derek Hale. We love him and miss him."
Linden Ashby, the man behind Sherif Stilinski, recently echoed the series creator's sentiments as Teen Wolf started filming for episode 6.
"Well... just because he's not a series regular doesn't mean he's not going to be in the show! :-)," Ashby teased.
