Supernatural's CW reign might not come to an end anytime soon.

'Supernatural' Season 10 Spoilers: Dean's Saving Grace Isn't Sam? Jensen Ackles Talks Unexpected Solution

The Winchester drama will dive into its 11th season next fall, and CW execs believe the series' could continue on into 12th should the ratings hold.

"We have no intent of (upcoming Season 11) being a last season," CW president Mark Pedowitz said at upfronts on Thursday, according to Deadline. "I'm a big believer and a big fan of the show, and as long the ratings hold and as long as the boys (stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles) want to do it, we'll do it."

Pedowitz's recent remarks mirror his 2014 upfront statements almost to a tee, the same statements that preceded Supernatural's early season 11 pickup. However, there are a few hurdles the series would need to overcome in order to score a 12th season.

Ackles (Dean) and Padalecki's (Sam) contracts expire at the end of season 11, meaning they are free to leave their decade long Impala adventure behind them if they so choose. After 11 years of chasing down vamps and ganking ghosts, the actors may be ready to move on to something else.

Meanwhile, season 10 has seen a noticeable ratings drop, particularly after the midseason hiatus. The ninth season averaged a 1.0 rating for the 18-49 demo and has 2.19 million viewers, reports TV Series Finale, whereas the current run has a .82 rating and 2.05 million viewers.
