The first season wrapped airing back in March and on Saturday, June 20, the series returns with a big Season 2 premiere.

The Siege of Lothal Part 1 and The Siege of Lothal Part 2 will run Saturday night and then the series will resume in the fall.

In the premiere episode of season 2 viewers will welcome back James Earl Jones who voices Darth Vader.

The Rebel crew will return to Lothal "to save a defecting imperial officer," according to the press release. Darth Vader will then confront them.

The second episode airing Saturday night will focus on this storyline as well.

In case you missed it, back in March Star Wars Rebels executive producer/supervising director Dave Filoni announced that Sarah Michelle Gellar would be joining the cast alongside her husband Freddie Prinze Jr. who voices Kanan Jarrus.

"We're thrilled to have Sarah Michelle Gellar on board for season two. She is a true 'Star Wars Rebels' fan and her passion undoubtedly comes through in the voice recording sessions," Filoni shared about Gellar's involvement.

Carrie Beck, a co-creator of the animated series, told the Star Wars website, "I don't think you can promise Vader showing up [at the end of Season 1], and not have a serious interaction with him in the opening of Season 2," while at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim.
