The 100's John Murphy will certainly catch viewers' attention in the season 3 premiere.

'The 100' Season 3: Episode Order Announced, Jason Rothenberg Explains Shortened Run

The notoriously amoral member of the original 100 followed the Sky People's eminence grise across the Dead Zone in season 2, finally making his way to the fabled City of Light. Now that Murphy (Richard Harmon) has scraped together a modicum of redemption, the teen must decide what to do with his newly found knowledge about the start of the nuclear apocalypse (see video below).

It stands to reason that Murphy might spend the premiere doing a little extra City of Light exploration.

"Murphy's the best. Richard Harmon is joining the cast as a series regular and what he gets to do in the first episode is amazing," showrunner Jason Rothenberg recently teased on Periscope. "I can't wait for you all to see it."

Speaking of the AI and City of Light mystery, Rothenberg promised season 3 will take viewers back to the beginning of it all, back to the days before the Arc became a necessity.

"2052 is when the world ended, and it's 97 years after that that the show began, so one of the things we're doing with this ending is getting back to how it all began," Rothenberg told TV Line. "It's a totally new element for the show. It's a more technological thing, for sure. We're going to play with how the world ended in the first place, and hopefully, we'll upend some expectations."
