The dark bowman is still staring down the Lazarus Pit story line, and there is no one more informed about the regenerative phenomenon. Television needs Constantine's skills after all; no matter what NBC execs may think.

"Yeah, we really want to do it," Arrow showrunner Wendy Mericle told IGN at San Diego Comic-Con. "It's something we've been talking to DC about and it's just a question of some political things, but also the actor's schedule. We're trying to work it out, but we don't know 100 percent if it's going to happen ... But we're really optimistic and we would love to have him."

Before the death knell officially sounded for Matt Ryan's character, Arrow star Stephen Amell (Oliver) dished on his desire to team up with the trench coat donning Brit, be it on Constantine or his own CW series.

"I had had discussions with DC... so not NBC, not CW... but with DC Entertainment about guest starring on Constantine when it was still on the air. And that was and is still on the table," Amell told Comic Book, adding, "The reason that I was going to guest star on Constantine, at least the idea that we were throwing around was he's an expert when it comes to the Lazarus Pit, which is now something that is a part of and will continue to be a part of Arrow."

Tune in to Arrow this fall to see if the partnership ever comes to fruition.
