It will be a reunion of sorts for Dwight Howard when his Los Angeles Lakers (8-8) take on the Orlando Magic (5-10).  The star center played in 621 games in eight seasons with the Magic before being acquired by the Lakers during a blockbuster offseason trade.

Howard will go into the matchup just off his best performance as a Laker, putting up 28 points and 20 rebounds on a team that continues to adjust to coach Mike D'Antoni's fast-paced offense.

"It's going to be a little weird playing against my former team.  But we need a good win.  So I'll put all my effort into getting ready for the next game, playing with a lot of intensity and just having fun," Howard told ESPN.

The Lakers wasted no time scoring when they posted 71 points in the first half alone in a 122-103 win against the Denver Nuggets on Friday.

"It's the way we want to play.  We've got a lot of talent out there, and it's got to mesh, and the ball has got to move," D'Antoni said.

Antawn Jamison scored 33 points off a bench that collectively posted 6, but Jodie Meeks didn't perform too shabby himself putting up 21 of them.

Although the Magic kicked off their 2012-13 campaign with two victories, the team has since faltered in 10 out of their last 13 matchups.  Orlando lost its third consecutive game to the Brooklyn Nets on Friday by a 98-86 margin.

"I don't care (about facing Howard and the Lakers).  Dwight's got his own problems and we've got problems over here," forward Glen Davis said.
