As Teresa Giudice prepares to be released from jail just before the holiday season, more questions rise about what her life will be like when she is a free woman -- especially when it comes to her financial situation.

In the latest reports, Giudice and her husband Joe have had trouble selling their beach home. They put it on the market amid their duty to pay the government back for restitution after they pleaded guilty to to several serious fraud charges like bankruptcy, loan and mortgage.

The bidding for the home started as low as $100 in an auction. But even that wasn’t low enough for someone to budge in buying the five-bedroom home.

Teresa’s lawyer James J. Leonard, Jr. shed a little light with People magazine and said earlier this month, “This particular home was purchased as an investment property several years ago before the real estate market crashed and before Hurricane Sandy caused significant damage to the area where the home is located.”

He added that the “sentimental value” of the home is gone, which is why they wanted to sell it to begin with. Because no one wanted to purchase it, it could go back on the market.

All of this comes as Teresa begins to prepare for her life after prison. She is currently serving a 15-month sentence (she will be released early this December) at a facility in Danbury, CT. Joe will begin his more than three-year sentence upon Teresa’s release. It’s not clear exactly when he is to report.
