The Top 8 on The Voice performed live on Memorial Day for a fierce competition to avoid being eliminated on Tuesday's live results show.

The Top 8 contestants delivered powerful renditions of cover songs originated by Adele, The Band Perry, Gotye and The Eagles.

One of the night's best performances came from Usher's only contestant, Michelle Chamuel. She sang Bruno Mars' first chart-topping hit, Grenade, and her take on the hit song led Blake Shelton to wonder aloud how "such a big voice could come out of such a little human being."

Shakira's ony contestant Sasha Allen also stood out when she performed a great rendition of Usher and David Guetta's Without You. Usher called her take on his song "incredible" and Adam Levine called himself a "dummy" for having eliminated her earlier in the season, which led to her being "stolen" by Shakira.

One of the show's coaches, Blake Shelton, also performed a solo performance - he sang his new single, Boys Round Here.
