Drew Barrymore has opened up a topic that most people are afraid to talk about as she recently tackled her sex life in an online post, saying she hasn't been in an intimate relationship since her break up with Will Kopelman and her view on sex has "truly changed." What triggered her to change her mind?

Taking to her official blog, the TV show host opened the conversation of sex in her life which she considers a "very personal story" as she hadn't had sex in a long time.

The 47-year-old actress said she has "very different feelings" about intimacy than she did while growing up in show business.

Throughout her early years, Barrymore viewed sex as something that gives her "companionship, validation, excitement," and many more.

Now that everything is in the past now, the "Charlie's Angels" star chose to look at intimacy through a positive lens.

She shifted her focus on her two children after separating from their father, making her a single mother.

"I have had the pleasure of shifting my focus when it comes to love for myself and my two daughters. I know that does not include a man nor has it for a while," she went on. (via Daily Mail UK)

Drew Barrymore Open to Having a Relationship With Someone in the Future But It's Not Her #1 Priority

Elsewhere in the post, many fans would understand where she's coming from as she explained what her therapist told her, "sex is not love! It is the expression of love."

Those were the words Barrymore was looking for throughout her single motherhood and she credited her therapist for telling her that eye-opening quote.

Even though the actress noted that she might get into a relationship in the future, she clarified that it's not her number one priority.

Today, her main goal is to make her children happy as well as herself, but she still insisted that she's not the kind of person who needs to "go out there" and have sex on a regular basis.

According to People Magazine, rumors about Barrymore's relationship with Kopelman started circulating in 2011 after they were spotted grabbing coffee and a dinner date in Los Angeles.

They got married in 2012 and had two children together. However, their relationship didn't last long as they announced their divorce a few years later.
