Comedian Trevor Noah recalls a Halloween incident that led him to dress up as the Weeknd every year.

Trevor Noah's acting career dates back to as early as 2002 in the soap opera "Isidingo". He rose to prominence by hosting several television programs, eventually paving the way for his breakthrough as the first South African stand-up comedian to appear on the late-night talk show, "The Tonight Show" in 2012. Noah also became a recurring cast member of "The Daily Show" as a 7-year mainstay until his departure this year.

Trevor Noah as 'The Weekday'

As the Halloween season draws near, Trevor Noah recalled a memorable moment from last year in an episode of "The Tonight show with Jimmy Fallon".

For last year's Halloween, the comedian decided to dress up as the "Starboy" singer and posted the uncanny resemblance in a viral tweet, where he comedically referred to himself as "The Weekday" in parody.

However, Trevor Noah recalls the "strangest" encounter while walking in New York during Halloween last year, when a fan had mistaken him for the "Call Out My Name" singer himself.

"I'm walking downtown in New York. It's Halloween. Everyone is dressed up as other things. Someone screams, 'The Weeknd!'" Noah recalled the incident. "So I go, 'Yeah, that's the outfit. I get it.' Then she's like, 'Can I get a selfie, The Weeknd?' And I was like, 'Wait, you think I am The Weeknd?'"

Despite telling the fan that he was not actually the Weeknd, the female fan kept insisting that he reveal his real identity without realizing that she was talking to a costume-clad Trevor Noah.

"She's like, 'You're lying. I recognize you', I was like, 'Wait, why would The Weeknd be The Weeknd for Halloween?' And then she got angry." Noah recalled the confusing incident, "She's like, 'I thought you were nice.' Then I'm like, 'Well, guess The Weeknd's not nice. I don't know what's happening right now.'"

After the Halloween costume led to the strange incident, Trevor Noah concluded that he'll start to dress up as the Weeknd for Halloween every year.

The Resemblance is Uncanny

Prior to the Halloween incident, the reference between the two has been a running joke on the internet for quite some time now. Fans have expressed similar sentiments on Twitter by making jokes about the two's resemblance.

Funnily enough, even the Weeknd acknowledged that the two look alike in some angles and posed alongside the comedian in a past photo, dubbing him as his "real life twin".
