Fans may be happy with Channing Tatum's promise to include plenty more dancing in the upcoming Magic Mike: XXL, but if a move doesn't get approval from the actor's wife it may not end up in the final film.

While promoting his newest film, The Book of Life in New York on Oct. 11, Tatum revealed to People that he does seek Jenna Dewan-Tatum's approval before he puts a dance routine into the film.

"Our two choreographers on the movie, they're really, really good friends [with Jenna]," Tatum said. "So I work it out with them and then I go show Jenna for approval."

But fans don't need to worry about his wife, who he met on the set of Step Up in 2006, possibly vetoing any moves because he says that since they are both actors, they know that certain things-like kissing other actors or doing stripteases on camera-come with the territory.

" She actually loves Magic Mike believe it or not. It's an interesting thing that actors have to deal with. We're 10 years into it now, so it's kind of old hat-we've moved past it," he said.

He also revealed that she's pretty understanding about the moves he wants to make because she understands that the project is one he holds close to his heart.

"It's just a part of me telling some part of my life. And she understands that," he said.

The fact that his wife is understanding about why he's doing the movies and putting some of the dances into them is good news for fans, who will definitely see a lot more of those scenes in the new film.

"This is the Super Bowl version of what the first one was," he told The Today Show's Tamron Hall Oct. 13. "I'm dancing probably five times as much in this one."

Magic Mike: XXL is filming now in Savannah, Ga. It is scheduled to open in theaters July 1, 2015.
