Former professional boxer Mike Tyson slams streaming service Hulu on Instagram for stealing his life story to produce an unauthorized mini-series.

"Mike" will showcase Tyson's life "steeped in as much glory as scandal", as the former boxer had been surrounded by numerous controversies during his dynamic career. The official trailer was released in July 2022.

However, Mike himself makes it known that he has no support and consent for the biopic. He dubbed Hulu as "the streaming version of the slave master" as they did not get his consent or compensate him.

"It's not 1822. It's 2022. They stole my life story and didn't pay me. To Hulu executives I'm just a n****r they can sell on the auction block." he stated on his Instagram.

During a Television Critics Association panel, "Mike" showrunner Karen Gist told TVLine that their intention was to "tell an unbiased story and have the audience decide what they think or feel,"

"Whether you like him or hate him, does the story make you question how complicit society has been?" the showrunner commented.

"Mike" will be an eight-episode limited series aired on Hulu, and is set to release this August 25th. The cast will feature Trevante Rhodes as Mike Tyson,
