Brennan & Booth Ready For Baby No. 2 To Join Christine on 'Bones'?

The season 9 finale of Bones will feature the Jeffersonian team investigating a case closely tied to Booth himself, according to a new report by E! Online. The victim of the crime is a man who revealed secret info to Booth about a potential government cover-up. Booth reportedly finds itself in over his head as the team gets deeper into the case. The report also speculates that this might be the end of his career at the FBI.

Enstars has previously reported that two big stories will converge by the season 9 finale, Booth's potential promotion within the FBI and the mysterious Ghost Killer case. It has also been revealed that the season will end on a cliffhanger.

Before any of this can do down, however, there are three episodes left in the season. Fox has released a new plot synopsis for the penultimate episode of the season, which is titled The Drama in the Queen.

In the episode, the Jeffersonian team is tasked with investigating the death of Brian Thomas, a swim coach at a community college. His remains are found at the bottom of a well.

"When possible suspects tell Brennan [Emily Deschanel] and Sweets [John Francis Daley] that Brian may have been having an affair, the team digs a little deeper only to find details of Brian's secret life. Meanwhile, Sweets fills in for Booth in the investigation while Booth prepares to testify before a Congressional sub-committee and the Jeffersonian team gets a new intern (guest star Laura Spencer) who catches Sweets' attention."

Bones season 9 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Fox.
