One of Hollywood's hottest starlets is now back in the dating scene.

Scarlett Johansson and her boyfriend of nearly one year, Nate Naylor, have broken up, sources confirmed to People.

Johansson's rep is not commenting on the news but one source who knows both parties told the publication, "She broke up with him last week.  He's pretty upset but the writing was on the wall. A lot of people were surprised it lasted this long."

Johansson, 27, and the advertising executive were first spotted together back in January in the streets of New York, where Naylor's business is based. At the time, she was fresh off her divorce with Ryan Reynolds (who now is married himself - to "Gossip Girl" actress Blake Lively). "The Avengers" actress divorced Reynolds in December 2010 after a two-year marriage. She was then linked for some time to "Mystic River" actor Sean Penn in early 2011.

The couple was seen last winter with their arms wrapped around each other and a source told People in January "They've been dating for five months," meaning the couple kept their relationship private for some time.

Johansson and Naylor met through mutual friends. In the May issue of Vogue, the actress spoke about dating a non-celebrity.

"It might be very strange to him," she said. "It's an adjustment -- I mean, it's got to be an adjustment for him way more than it was for me at nineteen. But he's remarkably good about it."

Johansson finished filming "Hitchcock" and the movie is expected to come out before the end of the year, according to IMDb. She played Natasha "Black Widow" Romanoff in "The Avengers" and will star in another two comic book superhero movies announced to come out in 2014 and 2015: "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "The Avengers 2."
