Mindy Kaling, comedienne and advice extraordinaire for young girls, has another gem for the "nerdy" girls who aren't quite lucky in love in "high school."

Seventeen got some of Kaling's wisdom on basically just enduring high school when it sucks for you. According to Kaling, what lies at the end of the dark and embarrassing tunnel is quite inviting. She reveals that as the she wasn't getting any attention from the boys she used her time and energy to work on a her comedic craft in high school and look where she is now!

Here's her full experiential advice, complete with the funnies:

"I was pretty nerdy in high school. I never had a boyfriend or anything, but I had plenty of crushes. They were private and exciting and gave me a way to connect with handsome, popular guys without ever needing to talk to them. Being single also gave me time to realize my real passion: comedy. I was obsessed with Saturday Night Live and had a massive crush on cast member Dana Carvey. (Head to Yahoo Screen right now and search for his Church Lady clips!) I thought we would get married and, because he was so talented, my parents would have been fine with my underage relationship with a 40-year-old comedian."

And here is Kaling on dating now:

Maybe Kaling's next project should be talk show where she gives advice? We'd watch it!
