If you thought you'd seen the last of Supernatural's Mark of Cain, you were dead wrong.

'Supernatural' Season 11: Flashbacks Planed For Episode 2 [PHOTO]? Jared Padalecki Teases Sam's Tattoo

The demonic brand will return in season 11, although it won't be on Dean's arm (thank Chuck). Photos from the set indicate that an unknown woman will take up a version of the Mark for episode 6.

Photographer Nigel Horsley captured the latest images, and you can see the Mark particularly clearly on the chest of actress Samantha Isler (see photo here). Like a sinister reflection of the Winchester's anti-possession tattoos, the brand is placed on the upper left hand side of Isler's chest.

'Supernatural' Season 11: Sam Has Latent Powers As Lucifer's Vessel? Jared Padalecki Teases Major Twist

The Darkness will take on the embodiment of a woman in season 11, as per Jensen Ackles (Dean), and Entertainment Weekly's announcement left fans believing Emily Swallow's Amara could be a vessel for the enigmatic baddie. The apperance of Isler's character, however, throws this theory into question. Can the Darkness swap bodies like a demon?

Little is known about the return of the Mark aside from one tidbit Ackles dolled out at San Diego Comic-Con. When asked if Dean would have a connection to God's pre-Biblical lock & key, Ackles played coy.

"Where is the Mark is the question," Ackles teased, according to Buddy TV. "There are certainly some questions, some big questions, that need to be answered as far as to...what's going to happen. Whether or not it becomes some sort of interconnection because Dean did wear the Mark and now the Mark is essentially the key to whatever this was, there might be a connection, I don't know."
