There's a new Head of Household in the Big Brother house, and it's sure to be another crazy, paranoid week.

Steve Proposes New Deal To Liz on 'Big Brother 17'

Head of Household: Vanessa Rousso

Nominees: TBD

Other houseguests: Austin Matelson, John McGuire, Liz Nolan and Steve Moses

Will Vanessa Finally Get Caught For Playing Both Sides Of The 'Big Brother' House?

The Head of Household competition took place Thursday night, and while Austin had the early lead, Vanessa outpaced him and won the power. She is now safe until the Final 4, but now she has to pick a side.

Almost immediately after getting inside the house, Vanessa scurried around to everyone trying to get information out of them. She told everyone about getting a bad feeling before the eviction that people were whispering and possibly conspiring against her. Liz and Steve came clean to her about the deal they agreed to, which was that Liz would keep Steve safe if she were HOH and it was a tiebreaker scenario.

With this cleared up, Vanessa directly told Steve that Austin was her target. She seemed to be under the belief that Austin was making deals with everyone else, which would ultimately lead to her being nominated and evicted. Austin assured her in several hour-long conversations that he's willing to go with her to the Final 3 and that was always the plan. But Vanessa was very hesitant about this.

Vanessa and Austin continued to talk for a lengthy period of time, with Vanessa asking Austin to do many risky things and Austin mostly groveling and telling her whatever she wanted to hear. As of now, Vanessa wants Austin to throw the next Veto competition as a "test of loyalty" and if it gets down to them plus Liz in the Final 3, that they would throw the first part of the HOH competition to her.

Vanessa came around to the idea that John should be the one evicted since she doesn't have as strong of a relationship with him as she does with everyone else. She also said that everyone would want to take him to the end for an easy win.

Later, Vanessa spoke with Steve and she hinted that John was the target. Steve asked her to break the tie to evict the other person if it came down to him and anyone else on the block, and she agreed. He was very worried that Austin and Liz would vote to evict him in a John vs. Steve scenario, but Vanessa told him that they'll vote the way she wants.

Finally, Vanessa spoke with John and he barely put up a fight when it came to the proposal of putting him up with Steve.

There's no telling what Vanessa will do at the Nomination ceremony since she's been all over the place since her HOH win.

Big Brother 17 returns for a new episode Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. The episode will feature highlights from the HOH competition and the Nomination ceremony.
