Meanwhile, Campbell is still making headlines for being the first Black model to cover Vogue magazine back in September of 1989. The magazine’s high power editor-in-chief Anna Wintour revealed that the other magazine executives were “stunned” and shocked by her gracing the cover of what’s noted as the Fashion bible.
“Looking at this issue made me very proud I think of how far we’ve come and how much the world has changed and what question would just simply not arise today.”
