Doctor Who's Jenna Coleman is rumored to be ready to take her leave of the BBC sci-fi juggernaut...again.

'Doctor Who' Season 9 Spoilers: All Episode Titles Announced, Will David Tennant Return For The Finale?

The series has finished filming for season 9 and, in a classic case of history repeating itself, the Whovian rumor mill is churning out speculations regarding Clara's (Coleman) future. Last year, there were very loud whispers claiming Coleman was thinking about leaving the TARDIS behind - a rumor that the actress and showrunner Steven Moffat both later confirmed - and this year's departure panic might also be based on a sliver of truth.

"Doctor Who companion Jenna Coleman has quit the time-traveling sci-fi series - to spend more time in the 19th Century," The Mirror announced on Wednesday. "Jenna - who plays time and space-hopping Clara Oswald - has landed a major role as Queen Victoria in a £10 million ITV drama."

'Doctor Who' Season 9: Twelve Is Defenseless In A Hostile Dalek City, 'The Witch's Familiar' Plot Revealed

Considering the tabloid source, fans should take this news with a grain of salt. Coleman's track record, however, lends itself nicely to this sort of speculation.

"I originally wrote her out in 'Death in Heaven,'" Moffat told Doctor Who Magazine (via Doctor Who TV) of Coleman's season 8 indecision. "That was her last episode. And then she asked me if she could be in Christmas. So I said, 'OK, I'll write you out in Christmas'. She came to the read through and did the 'write out' version - and again changed her mind."

According to The Mirror, Clara will take her leave of the Doctor before the 2015 Christmas Special. This would give Twelve (Peter Capaldi) and River Song (Alex Kingston) plenty of time to reconnect in the holiday ep.
