She's been on a mission ever since getting herself freed from prison for Connie's murder to get her infant daughter Avery back, and now, Ava (Maura West) will face off with Carly (Laurs Wright) oiver custody of the little girl on General Hospital.

Elizabeth Makes A Desperate Move To Keep Jake For Herself

Since Ava's presumed death and the reveal that she had been alive and posing as her own fake twin sister Denise, custody of Avery has shifted from Kiki (Hayley Erin) and Morgan (Bryan Craig) to Michael (Chad Duell) and back to Sonny (Maurice Benard). Since Sonny got his daughter, Carly has been serving as a surrogate mother, and the plan when Ava was supposed to be in jail for the rest of her life was for her to basically take over as Avery's mom once she married Sonny.

However, things have become more complicated since, after her wedding to Sonny didn't happen because he was shot (allegedly by Ava's brother Julian [William DeVry] but really by Paul [Richard Burgi])-and Ava was set free from jail because the recording of her confession went missing thanks to Scott (Kin Shriner). Now, she has shown up at the hospital and is demanding Carly hand her daughter back over to her at once--though Carly is putting up a big fight.

Sonny Mistakens Jake For Jason

"There's no way in hell I am letting you anywhere near this little girl," she says to Ava in a preview clip for the Thursday, September 24 episode.

Now, as Sonny tried to recover, the women may be forced to fight it out-and the custody battle could yet again wind up in court as the battle over who is best for Avery continues to rage on.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
