ESPN reporter Heather Cox did not have a great start to the New Year as she tried to interview coach David Shaw after Stanford's Rose Bowl victory last night. Stanford won 20-14 over Wisconsin in the first of five BCS games during the college football's season. Traditionally, the winning coach has a brief interview with ESPN but Shaw was clearly not in the move to talk as he celebrated with his team with hoards of cameras aimed at him. With the confetti falling, Cox asked the first question to Shaw before being brushed off.

After several attempts to walk away from the interview, Shaw quickly stopped for a very short interview before he was taken away by a Rose Bowl official to continue celebrating and join the trophy presentation.

Cox is then caught on camera and mic, saying: "Are you kidding me?"

A lack was communication has been blamed for the interview mishap. After the trophy presentation, Shaw eventually came back to finish the interview with the snubbed reporter.

Cox asked Shaw: "Coach, before the game you told me you never have real highs and you don't have lows and that sometimes it can be a curse. Are you allowing yourself to be a little emotional now?"
