The Showtime revival of Twin Peaks is adding another acclaimed actor to its expanding cast.

Why The 'Twin Peaks' Reboot Will Be 'Very Satisfying'

Peter Sarsgaard, famous for roles in Orphan, Jarhead and this year's Black Mass, is joining Twin Peaks, according to a new TVLine report. His role will reportedly be recurring.

Sarsgaard will be joined by Amanda Seyfried, Balthazar Getty (Brothers & Sisters) and Robert Knepper (Prison Break) as new actors to the series.

Is The Original 'Twin Peaks' Composer Expected To Return For Revival Season?

As of now, Kyle MacLachlan is the only star from the original 1990-91 series announced as returning for the revival. MacLachlan played Special Agent Dale Cooper, who was last seen possessed by the demonic villain of the series, BOB. Other stars like Dana Ashbrook (Bobby), Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey) and Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer/Maddie) have been rumored to return but have not been officially confirmed by Showtime.

The Twin Peaks community is also mourning the loss of one of its most beloved stars. Catherine E. Coulson, who played The Log Lady in the original series run, died at age 71 on Sept. 28, just as production was underway.

Meanwhile, Showtime released its first official teaser for the Twin Peaks revival on Sunday. The teaser featured no new footage, instead focusing on the infamous Black Lodge and the Man from Another Place (Michael J. Anderson). There was no premiere date revealed in the trailer.

Twin Peaks season 3 is expected to begin airing in 2017.
